Racial Discrimination in Music

Unlike songs that promote racial discrimination, “Stop the Insanity” demotes it. Lidy Lee, a singer-songwriter, wrote this song in an attempt to stop the racial discrimination. In all of her songs, Lidy promotes human rights, peace, and saving the Earth. By saying that racial discrimination is an insane action, Lidy make people believe that racial discrimination is non-sense.
Music is a strong medium that is used to send messages. Once listening to a piece of music for few times, the melody gets stuck in your mind that it is difficult to forget. Moreover, music can be heard by different people very easily. By being played in radio, television, or even live, a song can be used to target a specific audience. In that case, “Stop the Insanity” can be sung to people who might have strong sense of racial discrimination. Downside of music is that it can be easily ignored. If the style of music does not match with one's taste of music, it will be easily ignored and not be heard by many people. Lidy Lee, not being one of the most famous singers, will probably be ignored by many people, therefore, the message she tries to send won't be able to get far enough to change people's mind.
