Mass media has always played a important role in shaping the way people look at different races. Because of the media, people hold certain stereotypes for each type of people. For example, in movies and other shows, Korean people are usually portrayed as owners of convinience stores or a laundry place. As a result, everyone holds a stereotype of how Koreans are portrayed. Another well known stereotype held against Koreans is the belief that all Koreans (Asians) are good at math. I can safely say that not all Koreans are good at math due to the fact that I am horrible at math. Racism against black people have been portrayed the most through mass media due to the long history of distrimination between black people and white people in America. Black people are almost always depicted as gangsters, dope dealers, etc. Even when I look at black people, the first thing that comes to my mind is criminal records or dope dealers.
